ALLOY
Alloy is a combination of two or more metals in order to enhance strength and resistance to corrosion. Common alloys used in jewellery is shown on this page.
STERLING SILVER
Silver is a type of metal used in jewellery. Silver is often combined with other metals to increase its strength and consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% alloy.
YELLOW GOLD
Pure gold is 24K, which is too soft for gold jewellery. By combining it with copper and silver, yellow gold retains a rich yellow colour while increasing its durability.
ROSE GOLD
Rose gold is the result of combining pure gold with large amounts of copper. It may also be referred to as pink gold.
WHITE GOLD
White gold is created by combining pure gold with a copper, zinc or palladium alloy to create a white or silver look.
PLATINUM
Platinum is a precious silvery-white metal which is both dense and malleable. Platinum is a popular alloy as it is non-corroding.
